Asheville, North Carolina Elopement | Sarah + Casey

Surprise! Sarah + Casey eloped in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina last month and it could not have been more perfect! This was the hardest secret to keep, as I was so excited for the few weeks leading up to it!

I met Sarah in college, as she was roommates with one of my dear friends, Leilani. Last summer, she reached out to me about photographing their engagement session (which you can see here!) and I had the best time with me! At the time, they weren’t sure what their exact wedding plans were. Fast forward a few months, they told me they were going to elope in the mountains! I decided I was going to drive to Asheville rather than fly, just to be extra cautious with the coronavirus pandemic. Our mutual friend, Leilani, actually assists me with weddings from time to time, and she was able to go with me so that I wouldn’t be doing the drive alone. Girls trip! Little did we know, Leilani would end up marrying them!

The night before their wedding, I was really nervous about the weather because it was supposed to storm (and likely snow) the next afternoon. I wanted to make sure we were able to see the mountains in their portraits, so we decided we would get up bright and early and do their portraits at sunrise! It was BEAUTIFUL outside, but definitely chilly at 21 degrees!

Sarah + Casey were surrounded by just their immediate family (parents, siblings, niece/nephew) and it was the most intimate, heartwarming marriage ceremony I have ever witnessed. There was so much love surrounding them! They made me feel like part of the family, they were so kind and welcoming.
