She said YES! EJ and Katie are engaged! What an amazing evening being able to capture EJ + Katie’s Polynesian Resort Proposal! The Grand Floridian in the background… icing on the cake! This proposal is definitely going in the books as one of the best ever!
EJ messaged me a few months ago and told me he wanted to propose to Katie while they are on vacation here in Florida. Katie was a member of the Disney College Program, and each summer since they have done a trip to Disney. He planned it all! The best part- their families would be here with them. How special to have all of their parents and siblings here with them when he popped the question! EJ knew he wanted to propose at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, as it is one of Katie’s favorites.
The morning of the proposal, EJ and I met at the resort to go over everything. I wanted to make sure we met in person so he would know exactly what I looked like and what I would be wearing that day. EJ was able to “take a work call,” stepping away from breakfast for a few minutes without Katie noticing. We went down to the beach area and marked out the picture-perfect spot for him to drop to one knee.
Since EJ would be proposing on the beach, there were not a lot of hiding spots for me. I wanted to make sure I had my camera in hand, ready to go, the second he got down on his knee. Enter influencer Kate, my dear friend who accompanied me with Minnie ears and all! We made it look like I was taking “influencer” photos of Kate (which I really did) so that Katie would not suspect anything. As soon it was happening, I switched over and captured their special moment. After the proposal, we took a few minutes to do some “Just Engaged” portraits!
EJ + Katie, I am SO truly honored to have been able to capture this special moment for you all. EJ, your planning was perfect, and Katie, your reaction was priceless! I had the best time with you all and your families. I cannot wait to watch you all embark on this next chapter of your lives together!
